Retroplate Topical

Retroplate uses a hardening and sealing agent 45 days days after the concrete has been cured. Some specifications call for Cure and Seal Hardener - that is a checmically reactive penetrating hardener that seals by densifying the floor.

In some specifications calls for initial application prior to walls being up and final application at least 10 days prior to racking.

Examples:

  • Ashford Formula
  • Chemisil Plus
  • Euco Diamond Hard

Retroplate Grind & Seal

Retroplate still requires 45 days cure time for grinding process as well. Liquid Curing Materials shall not be used meaning they will not put down Ashford right after the floor is cured like in a topical method. Specifically says grind concrete slab until paste is removed from surface and aggregate exposed matching approved mock up sample. Clean the floor with rotary machine and scrub with high quality detergents. Does not specify sheen level on these specs, just to achieve a hardened, polished, abrasion resistance finish.

Retroplate Grind & Polish

Retroplate requires only 28 day cure time for a grind and polish spec. Refers to application taking place 10 days prior to any floor mounted furniture. References metal bonded diamond grinding equipment, uniform scratch patterns, achieve a 800 and/or 3,000 grit finish, apply a hardener/sealer after polishing to densify and seal the floor.

L&M Construction Topical

Calls for concrete to be cured 14-28 days prior to beginning a L&M/FGS System unless exposed aggregate is to be achieved. Grind Prior to 14 days.References a waterless system and a hardener/sealer. Two applications of the FGS Hardener Plus Liquid to an 800 grit high gloss. No mention of machinery. Also refers to cleaning daily with white pads early on in the process.

Acceptable Products/Manufacturers:

  • FGS Hardener Plus M Construction Materials
  • FGS Vivid Dyes by L&M
  • FGS Concrete Cleaner Conditioner

FGS Hardener Plus Topical Mechanical Polish

Referred to as "Concrete Floor Polishing and Surface Treatment". This specification calls for polishing of a hardener/sealer assume grinding would be almost necessary to perform the following polishing steps of 50-200 diamond grind

Acceptable Manufacturers:

  • Trinity Contractors "Sodium Silicate Finish"
  • VIC International "Euclid Eucosil"
  • Centennial Surface Technology "FGS Hardener Plus"
